Associate Professor Bronwen Connor’s work at the Centre for Brain Research, University of Auckland, includes:
- reprogramming human fibroblast cells directly to neural precursor cells for use in disease-modelling, drug screening platforms and transplantation therapy,
- developing compounds to direct (a) adult neural progenitor cell migration and/or survival and (b) the fate of adult neural progenitor cells, and
- redirecting the use of current pharmaceutical agents to promote neural regeneration.
